FOX One, with the exclusive English-language streaming rights in the U.S. for FIFA World Cup 2026, brought in 2.8M Sign-ups in June 2026, according to Antenna estimates. It is the largest acquisition month observed since the service launched in August 2025. The opening day for World Cup 2026 on June 11 accounted for 400K Sign-ups on its own.
The previous biggest month of acquisition for FOX One was in January 2026 with 1.1M Sign-ups, according to Antenna, which coincided with the NFL Playoffs.

Direct distribution accounted for 40% of FOX One's June Sign-ups, the single largest channel. YouTube Primetime Channels, which began distributing FOX One on June 1, captured 15% of the mix in its first month live, with the majority coming in once the World Cup started on June 11. Amazon Channels, which had been FOX One's dominant distribution partner, driving 58% of Sign-ups from launch through May 2026, slipped to 19% as demand pulled through a broader set of distributors.
The 2026 World Cup functioned as a first-time acquisition event, not a reactivation event for FOX One, which is approaching its first anniversary. Some 93% of FOX One's June Gross Additions were new subscribers who had not previously held the service. Only 7% were returning, meaning users who had subscribed and canceled within the prior 12 months. This indicates that FOX One is still primarily bringing in new users who have not previously had the service rather than welcoming back in previous subscribers.
With the 2026/2027 NFL season kicking off in a matter of weeks, it will be interesting to see how FOX One retains a cohort that came in for a different sport. Retention through the early weeks of the season will offer a useful read on how much of the June cohort was there for the tournament versus the broader service.
