February 2026 was a big month for programming on Peacock. The streamer’s “Legendary February” featured three major live sports events spanning 17 days: the Milan Cortina Winter Olympics (Feb 6-22), Super Bowl LX (Feb 8), and the NBA All-Star Game (Feb 15). It was also a big month for Peacock’s acquisition; Antenna estimates Peacock generated 5.2M Sign-ups during February.
Of particular note, Peacock attracted a record-breaking number of Gross Additions in February 2026. With 4.9M Gross Additions representing 34% of all Gross Adds to the Premium SVOD category, Peacock added the largest number of new paying customers in a single month that Antenna has ever observed for an existing service.
The Gross Addition metric calculates the number of new paying subscribers in a given month, including both new and converted (from trial) subscribers. Like many Premium SVOD services, Peacock has pulled back on free trials to drive acquisition; Antenna estimates that only 1% of all Sign-ups in February came via a free trial.

Historically, Antenna has observed large acquisition spikes among services with rights to major sporting events. With the close scheduling of both the Winter Games Opening Ceremonies and Super Bowl LX, Antenna estimates Peacock drew 3.4M Sign-ups between February 5 and February 9 alone. The Sign-ups during the three-day period for Super Bowl LX reached 2.9M according to Antenna estimates, making it Peacock’s biggest acquisition event to date, exceeding Peacock’s exclusive AFC Wild Card Game matchup between Kansas City and Miami in January 2024.

As the market matures, Premium SVOD streamers are increasingly using big moments to drive acquisition, along with programming strategies to boost engagement among these sign-ups in the critical early months of subscription tenure.
